I agree, but from what we've seen of Penelope she doesn't seem as forgiving as the Eckharts are hoping. Even if the relationship has improved the moment things go wrong Penelope is quick to drop ties again and berate herself for ever even having hope.

you got me fucked up if you think “mind control” can somehow wipe away all of this. “mind control” as a plot device is fun, sometimes useful, but there’s a certain level to it. when it’s gone on for this long, when we see what lengths the “mind controlled” person goes to to carry out the orders they were given… mind control or not, the person is a major asshole. zero excuses for this bullshit. especially because he’s been like this since they were kids, there’s no coming back from that. at some point mind control or no, your actions, and by proxy, you, becoming irredeemable. i doubt the author will go that angle but i just need to vent in the slim chance it does.
derrick you will never know happiness. i hope you and yvonne suffer for the rest of your days. i hope all of penelope’s suffering is multiplied by 100 and delivered to you all at once.
