I thought the same the first time i read the chapter, but now that the translations are uploaded, I think what she really wants is just someone to love her fiercely. She acknowledges the sincerity of his feelings, but she knows he wouldnt ever take a bullet (or sword in this case) for her nor get his hands dirty for her love. While on the other hand, it seems the emperor has promised her everything. I think the image of the bird in a cage also shows Johannes might have kept her hidden and locked, while the emperor will free her and show her the world.
