Agreed yo she’s sooooo different from Shuli, idk what’s wrong with these weird creepy old men yearning for a girl who has nothing to do with their past love besides looking like her. I like Ludovica as a character who’s interesting but Shuli feels lot more responsible, conservative and reserved
Shuli definitely has known about the things that would happen and things that are about to come, seeing as she had to fend the Marchioness position for so long (and even longer now). She now only has the support of more people, her family and the friends around her.
I thought the same the first time i read the chapter, but now that the translations are uploaded, I think what she really wants is just someone to love her fiercely. She acknowledges the sincerity of his feelings, but she knows he wouldnt ever take a bullet (or sword in this case) for her nor get his hands dirty for her love. While on the other hand, it seems the emperor has promised her everything. I think the image of the bird in a cage also shows Johannes might have kept her hidden and locked, while the emperor will free her and show her the world.
