EXACTLY!!! People are forgetting how severely traumatic torture can be. So ya. If ya really think about it- he's not at all far from being right because Ariadne did get involved with him in her second life and if she didn't it really WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED. It makes sense why he blames her because he was always been loyal to the prince, but he became infatuated with her, while only having little info on the whole situation, he doesn't know ALL the context so his frame of rationale is limited only to 2 people. Which would mean he'd have to choose between 3 people to blame- himself, the prince or her (and he's been loyal to the prince MUCH LONGER than her) so it's obvious why he chose her (an outsider) to blame instead of the people who are just doing their jobs trying to torturing him for answers.
He LITERALLY is commoner who became a knight for the prince, he lacks education and connections to know EXACTLY what's going on so how could he possibly think outside the box? HE CAN'T HE'S ONLY LIMITED TO WHAT HE KNOWS ON THE SURFACE.
