i was afraid they'll make it another adopted daughter vs. real daughter kinda thing. so tired of making children play smth like a big bad villain. thank god that's not what this is. thank you!
so the plot is a little messy but, mc is inside their real daughter body and they later find shekina(the real soul) and adopt her too.

also, the white haired guy is the ml but they won’t really officially become a thing until the very end i believe
