not all stories are meant to be realistic!!! and mc was obviously going to end up with stockholm syndrome you can’t just blame him for it!!! he isn’t a poorly written character, if anything the author is doing a great job at getting people to see both shitty sides of the characters and mc didn’t know the brother in hs it was after hs that they ended up becoming related.. it wouldn’t hurt to re read the story
Well thats whats am saying, the story isnt realistic or human, its just an excuse to be edgy.
And youre right not all stories are meant to be realistic, but when youre talking about such a heavy subject you need to put in mind that the characters may have heavy reactions (which the author forgot to do) and tbh those "heavy reactions" is what makes a good story.

A good-written character would throw fits and go batshit crazy only to then reach their downward spiral into either insanity or acceptance.
The mc is already accepting and empathetic with the ml's actions.
Thats what Stockholm syndrome is, him just being 'that' without the all the before-steps (going batshit crazy - spiraling - ect) is so stupid and badly written.

Tbh he wasn't badly written before getting kidnapped, at first i thought he was an interesting character worth reading. Now he is just a nice sack of potatoes and it sucks that the author went that way.
Its like they just molded him into what the ml would want (which is again what Stockholm syndrome is)
