Ui-myeong, the son of the Minister of taxation is decreed to marry the Queen's daughter. However during their wedding(?) Before they even see eachother's face, she passes away. He is not allowed to remarry due to being a princess's husband. The king then sends Ui-Myeong to Ming which is basically China and Ui-Myeong stays there for 10 years.
When Ui-Myeong returns he meets The first prince Kang Heon who is pretending to be a playboy and sleezebag so that the Queen's faction doesn't suspect him of trying to usurp the throne. Kang Heon and Ui-Myeong seem to be childhood friends and maybe even had some sort of sexual relationship (grape?) In the past based on the flashback at the funeral.
Prince Gyeon Heon is the 2nd prince and born to a concubine.
The Crown Prince seems to be the 3rd prince as far as we know and born to the Queen (hence the legitimate heir). His sister is the princess that died and the Prime Minister is his maternal uncle. He is in-laws with Ui-Myeong but also seems to hide a perverse obsession for Ui-Myeong.
Right now the princes are fighting for the throne.

There's different kinds of eunuchs. Some have their testicles, penis, both or nothing cut off. The most dangerous one was cutting off the penis/both because a lot of them died from infection. When the penis is cut off a sort of small pipe/straw was inserted into the urethra until the wound healed so it doesn't heal shut and they can still pee. So it's possible for this eunuch to not have a penis but still have their testicles.
Yeah I was just summarizing it up as D cut off since the purpose of an eunuch was to ensure the king's women weren't impregnated by another male so D made sense visually as a description.
