uhm no i have already read stories that go that route but their narratives are usually driven by the plot stalker VS victim trying to scape and i dont mean that. i meant i'd like to read one in which the obsession ends up being rejected as a sub plot and those are kind hard to find since both types (the romantic or the more thriller approach) tend to end up following the normalization or fetichizing route. anyway i wouldnt say im bad at searching just bcs
Yeah I get that but once again I’ve found and read stories like that. I know what you mean and I’ve read stories where the MC quite rejects and hates the ML for their weird ass habits and another where a subplot was the the MC making the ML figure his shit out and learn what a healthy relationship was and it was kinda just like…idk psychopathic recovering? It was good tho. I also read this one where the whole plot was literally the MC just being a therapist and telling the ML how weird and problematic they were(that was a HL tho)
Yeah Ik but again there are stories that seem to be what your looking for in both the GL and BL sections(ngl I haven’t seen much in straight romances but I tend to read the same thing over and over when it comes to striaght ones) people have thought the same thing as you and have made/making(the one I was reading is still ongoing I think) stories on it. It’s not exactly a original thought people complain about it a lot(not saying ur unoriginal or basic btw it’s just it’s a common theme)
and i wouldnt say it's a common theme actually cause they usually follow the
1. MC rejects and then help to heal their romantic interests
2. narrative is driven by the obssession (usually in the psychological genre) and MC either falls into the stockholm syndrome or couple dont end up together
i am actually looking for a third option which is very similar to 'secret alliance', truly the manhwa i think fits what im imagining but not quite yet
Ooo I actually haven’t read secret alliance yet, tho I do know what your taking about the first manga(it was a manga) followed the first example tho they never actually got together again(I don’t think, it was unfinished and I forgot about it I have to go buy it back) also I’m not taking about those… actually yes I am the one my friend is readinf(which is another GL so maybe that’s the reason) it actually a psychological one tho it’s more of a “why do you act this way and how do you fix it” and she goes on like a self discovery arc before they meet each other again she proves she’s better and then they get together
OKG WAIT, I DO HAVE ONE THAT I THINK U MIGHT LIKE…kinda…lll find the name but it’s about these two office workers and extremely long story short it kinda goes from like “obsessive from childhood trauma(the usual) to romance to Stockton syndrome to figuring out the ML’s issues to breaking up, to figuring out his own issues , to fixing himself to talking it out to getting back together. It’s a lot and ngl kinda weirdly written but I think u might like it. The MC lowkey got on my nerves tho…and it’s not the best written so it’s not really my first pick and I didn’t completely love it cause it was yaoi(they don’t tend to be my favs) but y might
nah i meant for a manga that is heavily romance based but they end up breaking up due to the toxicness of the relationship, that's why it's hard to find this specific plot because they either heal, completely ignore the problem because it's fiction orrr acknowledge the issue but it's in a thriller set (eventually breaking up or going stockholm)
im still hoping that one day i will find a manga in which the character goes against their love interest stalking or obssessive behaviour, i know its fiction and all but it would be interesting to see a character act grossed out by it and straight up break up for once
(im not referring specifically this manhwa, the latest chapter just reminded of this wish i have had for some time)
