hmmmm i dont really think miki baited tatsumi into bdsm bc he wanted to kill the yakuza guy, its pretty clear he approached him to have casual sex, there is no way he knew he was going to get beat up and raped by this random guy he was seducing. the sadistic play came after that. and the only reason tatsumi even knew about miki's life in the slightest is because they happened to run into each other while miki was with the girl and the yakuza guy punched him. before that, he kept personal talk to a minimum and ghosted takumi for weeks sometimes. seems to me that miki was more instinctual with his thought process. when he lost his nails, he was super angry and wanting revenge, but the next day he was more rational and probably did change his mind. ofc this isnt to say he wasnt lying, but i do think he meant "everyhing i said is lies" about what he was talking about at the moment, his past. we know this because he really was a nail artist and the guy who he wanted to kill really was a yakuza, his name really was miki, etc etc. his feeling were also never clear- tatsumi assumed a lot about him that we may never know if it's true. at least the author did say in the afterword that as much as miki is a bad boy, he probably wouldn't break the law. my opinion is that he wanted to keep tatsumi separated from his personal life, and when that bridge was burned and miki needed to explain things to him, he decided to lie to manipulate him, either to keep him at bay or only to satisfy his curiosity, or even to get something out of him (sex, the murder thing, running away maybe?) idk. i like that he remains a question mark, it's fun to speculate! (btw, im sorry for the late reply lol i just wanted to put my thoughts of the manga somewhere and your comment was super interesting!)
Holy sh*t. That was one hell of a story. I've come to know that EVERYTHING IS A FUCKING LIE. Miki knocked up the "sister" and the husband wasn't happy so he ripped off miki's nails which is how he ended up at Tatsumi's place that night. You don't know how much of what Miki told tatsumi was the truth because he dies telling tatsumi that everything was a lie but was EVERYTHING - YOUR FEELINGS, YOUR THOUGHTS, were a lie. I started this a subconscious opinion that they're gonna end up together and inlove so some part of me refuses to believe they were all lies. According to the speculations, Miki was inlove with the "sister" all along so he was planning to convince tatsumi to kill her husband hence making him the scapegoat so that the woman and Miki could escape together.... People say that in the end, Miki changed his mind and wanted to run away with tatsumi but I seriously doubt that. It is also speculated that ryoma couldn't stand miki because he could sense that Miki was not genuine and had sinister intentions but how credible is this argument when ryouma was obsessed with tatsumi to the point of stalking him?
My speculation is that the whole S&M relationship was just Miki's bait to find the perfect candidate because maybe he assumed that it would be easier for people into violence to turn it up a notch, making his goal possible without having to face the consequences?? Idk, I could be wrong and my opinion may change if I read it again but HELL NAW.
Everyone's twisted af and it left a hole in my heart after finishing this. Jeez, people that enjoy twisted and yandere shit are certainly a different breed ....
