I found Noah pretty annoying throughout the whole story. I thought what he had towards Ellen is nothing more than twisted obsession and definitely NOT love. But my opinion kinda changed after reading the last two chapters.
Ellen wasn't responding at anything at all after Caidel passed away. Okay I do hate Noah for waking her up from that slumber which she obtained with sm hardwork. But yeah when he saw Ellen not responding to literally anything, he took Caidel's form so she would respond like before, so she wouldn't just remain there like a deadbody. This is huge considering how much Noah hated Caidel.
I hate Noah for so many things but this made me think maybe he did love Ellen even just a little bit. Tho his expression of that is very horrible and he did many horrible things which caused her many distress.
I loved this manhwa sm. The fact that I cannot 100% hate any character? Because the characters are so complex. It's so easy to hate them from one pov, but when you think about things from their pov, they aren't completely wrong? All of them just had very different perspectives and morals which caused such disasters among them.
I can never fully hate the Earl. She was right from her side, I don't blame her at all. She's a morally Grey character so we can't expect her to act upright. She said she never loved Caidel but we all know that's a lie. She didn't want to but she ended up loving him. Not all of her behaviors, affections towards Caidel was a lie. Ellen was right too because the dreams she had? That's horrifying, living with the guilt. That just shows how different individuals are. Noah was also a very twisted character, he claimed to love Ellen. He had experienced those pains in the human realm before and didn't want Eleanor to experience those BUT the things he did? Yeah definitely not okay. Traumatized Eleanor literally. I feel so bad for Caidel. He finally found a family after losing everything, thought of the Earl as his mother, loved her but what did he get? He realized all of those were fake. This manhwa is so fucking sad my heart aches.
I hate the previous Earl so much omg, I feel so sad for the slave, Isis's brother (I don't remember his name, was it mentioned?). He knew he was gonna die in the process but still wanted her to proceed with the plan. Basically sacrificed himself knowingly for the freedom of the current Earl (her name's kinda complex i don't remember it) and his sister Isis.
Loved every bit of it. Kept me on edge the whole time. The plot twists were nice. The ending was so fucking tragic but oh well it was bound to happen, wasn't it? It was tragic, hurtful but yeah it was bound to happen. I cried sm seeing her like that. Immortality is a curse and no one can convince me otherwise
