Let the author cook guys before you sink into depression

I'm curious about some of y'all opinions about the story's direction. I honestly don't see how anybody assumed this manhwa was going to be sweet and lighthearted. Jin is a victim child abuse, he has a on/off again addiction to drugs and sex, he's a gang leader that formally slept with his old boss who got him into drugs. Then Matthew is abuse orphan with attachment issues who was hired by the man he dreams of to be his sex buddy...
Like what about their lifestyles sounds like a recipe for healthy companionship? Lol
Matthew was literally sedating Jin so much that he was s--xing him til he passed out for 3 damn days...
I am all for a happy ending for both of them. They deserve it, especially Jin but this story was never not going to have hardships and "break ups". Remember Jin and Matthew aren't even formally dating yet. No one said confessed, no one even realize how much they depend on one another.
I think everyone needs to breathe and give it time to flourish.

Exactly This is no fluff story. The first season was very clear about how dark it was, with Jin being a gangster coping with drug abuse through sex. Matthew is obsessed with Jin due to the traumatic past they both share from the orphanage. Neither of them leads a normal life. Jin has a criminal record and spent five years in prison because of people he trusted and considered family, while Matt, with no family of his own, saw Jin as a light of hope. Jin, in turn, finally has someone to depend on. People enjoy such angst because it makes the happy ending more rewarding after all the suffering, which is why Jinx is so popular and fluff can get repetitive and boring if not done right. It's like an angsty beginning with a fluffy ending is best for readers, but for this story, I'm not sure yet. However, I'm so gripped by the story that I will endure the angst, as it makes me curious about what will happen next and how things will unfold and resolve.

Exactly what I was thinking, that's why I let the author's do their thing while reading and don't judge too much, and yes sometimes it hurts to see our characters in pain but if it's told right this could be a very rewarding ending.
