shoujo anime controversy

it seems like during the past few years there hasn't been many interesting nor refreshing shoujo animes and its been having me kind of stumped. whenever they would animate a popular or well sought out shoujo manga they just wouldn't give it the justice it deserves... im saddd because i just remember growing up with so many good shoujo/romance animes and it's become an important part of my childhood. in the end i guess it all boils down to, the typical cycle of stuff made for women not being seen as profitable enough, so adaptations aren't really made. it's been at least 5 years since I can remember having a decent selection of shoujo shows in a year. its becoming scarce and I NEED IT BACK take me back to like 2015 pls n ty (/TДT)/
