Either this author is tripping, or the people in her world expect KIDS to have the same life skills or close to the same skills as a grown adult. I do not understand why the author constantly puts kids in odd situations like that time THE QUEEN made fun of the FL for not properly killing a deer or, was it, a bear. I was like, she's 9???? What do they want exactly?
Now, this poor traumatized CHILD have to "prove" to the FL that he is worth "saving"..like..??
