I am as I said a person of color, I don't really need to explain what shade I am, even in this situation, I don't see how that's confusing. Yes. Ik Asian are a part of poc. I understand you maybe wanted clarification, but the poc didn't need to be nitpicked here. So I didn't feel the need to explain in the situation my skin color when I can blatantly see its a porcelain skin person calling the dark skinned students the n word. In general it's a pale person hating on a person of color, for only one reason I can see is they are of another race/color.
I also didn't like how the author tackled this particular chapter or scene. It shocked me to see those people especially Hyun, say the N word. I thought that since he was introduced as a person who uses words instead of violence he would be smart enough not say that. Honestly when I first read it, I just thought that this chapter tackles about gentrification (maybe, idk why I thought that) so I was shocked by the blatant racism. But what I got from the chapter was that the author probably wanted to show (reverse racism?) somehow, show a character who looks like they're the one who'll receive hate or bullying but actually end up being the perpetrator which was shown also on the earlier chapters where the kids who looks innocent or pretends to be, actually ends up being the bully. Still that does not excuse how badly the author actually tackled this while situation.
Also someone enlighten me pls, did they remove be the next part of chapter 125 after getting hate?
Uhm some people may have disliked because of different reasons, please don't assume just because you feel your word are absolute, a dislike could mean they disagree with they way you wrote some or a specific point, I get your are passionate but even people on the same side disagree with each other it's called being human with complex thoughts and opinions
WOW YOU KNOW THAT IS RACISM AND NOTHING ELSE. It was the most disgusting thing the fake reverse racism which absolutely never happened in Korea. I and other black people have experienced the worst form of Racism in Korea similar to how American used to be in 1950. So please go excuse discrimination somewhere else.
Question, what’s the point to all this arguing? Do people not have better things to do with their lives? I want to make this blatantly clear that I do not under any circumstances condone racism, but I would like to point out that this is in the end just a comic, a complete and utter work of fiction.
I had this on my list to read later on then I just found out about the author disgusting racism. I thought this is about real life but the author decided to make reverse racism situation. I have lived in Korea for a year and EVERYDAY I experienced racism due to my skin color. I met few African kids who were on exchanges student programs and the horror stories they told me of their experiences made my skin boiled. Now reading about this fake racism that author portrays which is a fantasy in a book about reality just shows the kind of mindset the author has. I even read the apology and that was horrible too. It would have been nice to actually show how foreigners in Korea especially Africans get mistreated in schools. That’s would have authentic as it happens everyday there. I’m dropping this and I really hope the author decolonize his mindset. We don’t look like how he portrayed us!!!! I know most people moved on from this issue but I just started reading this. My reaction is valid and I’m glad they didn’t delete chapter 125!
