The idiot cried like five times in one chapter alone and made it her shtick to cry every literal time she saw him.

In the first chapter the character eyes were captivating: Adelaide had bright golden eyes and then they became old brass color and lost all their expressivity. At some point I stopped looking at their eyes, especially the Marquis's who was supposed to be a man in love but I couldn't perceive any emotion from him.
The artist could have just added a white dot to make the characters feel at least alive if not expressive.
Side note: they all cry too much...
When Diane said she had to smile constantly when near the emperor It was hilarious.
