My standards might be too high from reading all that danmei but none of these two (namwoo and the hyungnim) seem to like him for who he is. It's a mix of how they either preferred his past scholar self or slave or the current scholar self. Namwoo wants to see Hajin go back to his old scholar self and finds it beautiful (which he tried and is currently seeing) while Hyungnim found him the most beautiful as a slave. Sure they save him when he is at his worst but keeps thinking this and that about his past self. I guess it's more "realistic" that way. It just irks me a bit when they try to project it on him time and time again.
