I think your analysis of her is very one sided. While it’s true to some extent it’s her fault where she ended up, she’s also a victim aswell. She’s a perfect example of “we accept the love we think we deserve”. What makes hachis character so tragic is that in a way every man she loved used her. You can call her easy or naive but just imagine being a hopeless romantic like her and the only thing you want is for someone to love you. So many people let her down and I don’t think her ending was meant to be her destiny. Also hachi is capable of being the type of women even settle down and build a life with, don’t misinterpret her character just because she ends up with takumi or was a mistress in the pass. Sure she chose this life, but can u really blame her?
I don’t think she’s necessarily easy and I agree what you said, but what I’m saying is in a man’s perspective she is “easy” and men love taking advantage of women like her.
I generally do believe that her ending was her destiny sadly because it was only a matter of time that she was going to get knocked up by some loser. Even junko said it and wasn’t surprised that she got knocked up. She is a victim, but it is her fault where she ended up in life because everyone told her and warned, but she didn’t care. All she ever wanted was desperately to be loved and that was her downfall. In a man’s perspective, she is the type of woman they do not build a life with and their eyes she’s just some girl they can use and take advantage of.
I think hachi is such a tragic character and she had the saddest ending but at the same time It was her fault where she ended up in life. I felt like her ending was so obvious bc In real life, women like Hachi end up like that or they just keep hopping from guy to guy. Men love, taking advantage of women like her and in their eyes she’s the type of woman they sleep with but not the one they go home to and build a life. She is “easy” and mentally unstable men only ever sleep with women like that, but never fall in love with. Hachi is the perfect example of how not to end up like.
