I kind of get what Leo's thinking. Yes, Leo is immature and not very emotionally intelligent (in regards to himself AND others) but...

He thinks JJ hates him. JJ hasn't helped this misconception with the way he pushes Leo away, and also leaving to another job clearly wanting nothing more to do with Lombardi. Plus, why would Leo cling to JJ when it's clear that there isn't room for getting back together, when everything happened so randomly (for him)? JJ knew that Leo was like this—he's been like this since the beginning.

I'm happy to get others' thoughts on this.

My thought is that they should be over and this story should show how they move on with their own life, maybe leo can find a person who can tolerate his shit and jj find someone who respects him. Love is not the only thing you need in a relationship. Leo can mature and learn on his own while he reflects on life.

I like this take a lot. Though, with the obvious that they'll get back together (this is bl, ofc), maybe they fool around a bit (being fwb) then things happen, and they actually separate for real? Leo learns to be more mature and no longer as reckless as he is, which then shows in his career, and maybe JJ watches him from afar (Leo's his favourite right?). Then along the line, they meet again and maybe talk things over about their younger selves? I sadly don't think this will happen though....
