Probably he sees the MC’s father in him. Like his eyes and people usually say he looks like his father, and he was traumatized by his father. I don’t think so! I thought so at first but when he was speaking to the coward guy uncle or whatever related to the mc’s r*pist, he said he couldn’t really see the resemblance between mc and the dad. Saying that they are quite different. I think this scene was a little nudge that the ML doesn’t see him as the dad
