Hm... maybe I'll be discouraging you but... she does kinda forgives them... but believe me... that's by the end and they regret and suffer enough for it... like... they do so for real real before she starts to forgive them...
I'm fine with eventual forgiveness, just so long as it doesn't come too easily. I think I've read and abandoned too many stories where the MC just forgives the family without them ever apologizing or even acknowledging their past shit behaviour. So what I'm looking for would be a story where the forgiveness takes a while to be earned.

does anyone have any recs where the family gets to a point where they actually show genuine remorse and the MC doesn't just forgive them? I feel like this one has really good potential, and it left me wanting for more.
