Some explanation gets skipped over compared to the novel. The Red Stone in past life was something Yuder never got in contact with and it was shrouded in mystery, the relevant research was handled by Kishar, who did not divulge this information to Yuder as their relationship was different compared to now. Kishar was dying and made Yuder Commander without telling him anything of behind the scenes.
Basically at that time, there was a bunch of other things happening, the red stone was a background kind of thing at the time, and Yuder was focused on not dying, being a commander, and "trying to stop the end of the whole" while the Corrupt crown prince/king (not Kishar's brother) kept sending him on missions and conquests constantly.
In the current life, the red stone is when Yuder discovers there's a different kind of energy(?) powers thing. It's explained in the novel, and he had to reach a balance between his original powers and the red stone. (The whole saga where he nearly dies from overusing powers from red stone.)
Plus as said before, the red stone was something nobody could directly approach, and even Yuder got marked/infected with the raw energy from the stone when they went to contain it.
The powers from close contact w the red stone is like kinda different and much more powerful.
Rmbr how nobody was able to get the red stone for like 2 years? they were wary and confused since other people in the past tried to obtain it, like in novel "stronger their powers, the stronger the backlash from the red stone." Ppl would faint, bleed, etc, so nobody could capture that stone, only Kishar and Yuder have. (If I rmbr correctly, I haven't caught up on the novel in a while) I think originally they knew it was a foreign/alien object but thought more along the lines of it being unrelated and possibly antimatter to powers. I'm pretty sure like any of the other subordinate on the team would've died or have their powers rupture them from inside if they made direct contact with the stone.
plus a few things come off a bit differently from the novel, just as they skipped some explanation from novel.
I don't understand why Yuder is so surprised over the Red Stone awakening people. Isn't it obvious? There's no awakened people. The Red Stone cometh. There's awakened people. How is this hard to understand? It's been two years - how dumb are their military/analysts? Every scrap of information should have been collected before this. I just.. I don't get it.
