i just finished chapter 10 and im suuperr confused, can someone please explain to me what the conflict is?

im sooo confused abt what the conflict at kaidos job is, like why did someone call him a f*g and why is he kinda beefing w that matsubara guy? and why does honda feel like hes getting in the way of kaidos dream and therefore they need to breakup? like idk im just not understanding what the miscommunication is so pls someone just explain it to me like im a baby or smth
