It looks like he had to admit to the poison to save his friend. Because of that his friend is saved, but he is bound.. probably for further investigation. The seme clearly knows about it as he is having some reflection on his past actions , how people came to hate him, and how he knew the uke could hate him and was a danger to him, but he kept him by his side anyway.
