i think it's his way of trying to protect himself since he's been in so many shitty relationships, and he probably can't deal with the aftermath if this could actually be what he's looking for but gets let down once again
I like this but I just don't like how the mc think like saying "its your job to lie." if that's what you think acting is then you need a whole reset
