heyy, so I read a bit of the novel a few years ago (not all just a bit). So the emperor did look into a lot of orphanages the thing is, that the empress moved the fl around. She is right beside the king and gets intel (propably?) as to where he is goin. and even so he could never go very far. but the fl also can`t go far, because the empress needs her power.
also he had to marrry the empress for her political strenght so she also brings/has a lot of power.
besides he was told by supposedly trusted people that he has to look for a boy. So he would request to see all the boys when he visits an orphanage
lastly the empress had mor than six years to get a holdof power in the palace and in her first life she also lived part of her life in that place, but the king did not accept her. so in her mind she thinks he does not like/hate her and he will not protect her from the empress.....so... why go there and not a place with similar political power? beside she first would need a chnace to meet the king (whom she does not trust).. but yeah
did the empress paid the trusted people to say that the emperor should be looking for a boy?

I never read the whole story but ofc I think that something happened to the King and prince, since both of them really searched for FL. So I hae what happened to her in the first life but her father was propably manipulated by magic or something. I don´t think he was sane, since the story here also talked about her arriving in the palace after the FL was a certain age.
so yeah don´t go back to an abuser even if he once was a victim. and here the abusers are the empress and the princess
