idk I kinda liked it tbh I get why ppl dislike it but I feel like he suffered a good amount and got what he deserved. he showed genuine remorse and while his actions can't be excused completely he was mislead into thinking she betrayed him by people he trusted. I am however surprised she never brought up the fact that she looks exactly like his dead fiancee to his face so that misunderstanding just got forgotten or whatever I guess
