I was aching for us to come back to the present, but I liked finding out that it was Law actually telling Jesse and the audience simultaneously everything that was going on in his head all that time. I feel like this whole thing came to be because Law was overthinking a lot of stuff, and neither of them were very good at explaining themselves to each other. I do agree that I am more on Jesse's side for this one, because he was being as honest as he could with the only person he felt he could be honest with (heck he even admitted to him that he was ignorant of how to treat people without considering his position as a young master, which not many of these sorts of characters bother acknowledging such a flaw in their social skills).
tl;dr Jesse tried to be as honest as possible with Law, and Law misunderstood Jesse whilst trying to maintain control of the powers that manipulated him from such a young age. It's exactly as Law mentioned before: Jesse was cruel to everyone except him; he was honest and sincere with him (and even expressed regret for tricking Law with that device).
I'm just really hoping that they somehow manage to FINALLY understand each other by the end of this...there're only 2 chapters left though...hopefully that's enough!
Good sum up of what happened character-wise in the flashback. Gosh, it's so long that it's quite easy to get lost in this one flashback! Hmmm, to me the "current" Jesse (the Jesse we met at the beginning of the series, without memories and stuff) is the one that truly matters. He was sort of a big jerk in the past, but once that was "wiped away" by whatever the heck Moritat is, Jesse was just friggin' confused and really creeped out by Law.
lol tl;dr I thought Law was creepy
Haha yeah I hear ya; Law was creeping me out more and more all the time.
I'm also wondering if part of the reason they agreed to do this Moritat thing was so Law could make Jesse understand how he's felt all this time (such as fear of Law [reflecting his fear of Jesse], and the inability to maintain control of the world around you/the powers that be)
Disagree. I'm still creeped out by Law but I understand that Jesse albeit unknowingly contributed to the reasons he creeps me out. So if anything he doesn't creep me out as MUCH.
OK I'm confused what the point of your disagreement was? You can't exactly measure how creeped out either of us are/were by Law? I'm not creeped out by him anymore ftr.
The first statement was a fact of how I'd initially felt about Law personally, regardless of whether those feelings were indirectly influenced by Jesse or not; to what extent he creeped me out is up in the air.
As for the second part, it's pure speculation on my behalf, so it's not asking for agreement or confirmation.
Back to present time woo hoo! I disliked too much reminiscing. But the past looks interesting. From my POV ít looks like the master guy (forgot his name:))) didn't actually do anything too evil and twisted? What a surprise.
