I feel like we haven't read the same thing lmao - she's bullied and looked down on rather than perceived as a 'villain'. A villainess isn't just negative attention, its negative attention with fear as the main aspect (evil in some way and/or has a great deal of power that leads to others either looking up to/following despite the evil/'bad' vibe the girl gives). This mc has a bunch of ppl not respecting her one iota (even BEFORE her engagement to the prince) ergo not a villainess, just a bullied girl with special powers like a normal female mc in a fantasy setting.
'Villain' likely there to get more readers smh, nothing can convince me otherwise (not evil AND not respected -> not villainess even by society in the manga)
I’m just saying that the typical trope for calling the fl before transmigration, is referring to her as a villainess. Before she had broken her engagement, she become one of those typical dumb, haughty villainess. As the fiancée of the second prince, no one can bully her. They still can hate her, but can’t openly do anything as she’s going to be part of royal family. Now that she’s no longer engaged to the prince, they are able to bully her. She had a reputation, but it was all an act. The Prince wanted to be seen as a saviour and be someone who was so kind heart that he would take pity on the Red Fairy. He has an inferiority complex and likes it when he’s better than Bridgette. In order to do that he made her become a villainess.
I'm aware of flooding, but that usually has some aspect the patient focuses on to help with calming/relaxing (eg breathing techniques etc) when confronted with the thing they feel aversion/fear towards. Its never jump straight into the deep end with nothing, when there's trauma at the level mc has, simply confronting the fear usually leads to stress and as shown, a panic attack.
Regardless, the fire is shown to be a part of the fear, but the deeper issue was the effect of her father's abuse (something talking therapy would've helped uncover) and doing this shit version of CBT therapy isn't all that much help...
We def have different definitions of villainess bc even with the whole prince making her be shit at school etc thing, I can't view her as a villainess.... Like idk, even from the start or in any of the flashbacks, she's just a girl who got bullied and taken advantage of - sure they may have not thrown her shit in the bin etc like conventional 'bullies' but ignoring and not interacting with someone (isolating them in a social setting, purposefully) is kinda bullying (like in a 'I dont wanna be asociated with them', not bc they fear or respect her, but bc they look down on her??)
This isn't a 'villainess'..... Also, exposure therapy usually goes a bit slower kiddo
