I wish there were more logic in stories. Like yeah they have the mind of an adult but what adult would give a child responsibilities or tests only adults/older children would take. It takes me out of a story, but I'll still read it cause I have bad taste.

I hate those family troupes, where (always) the father and grandparent doesn't accept the baby mc bc they are illegitimate, so they propose a super dangerous job for a 3yo, and since they are a "genius" they get accepted and they ignore the other children who suffered the same abuse, but all is well bc the other children either loves the mc or is a "bully" so they deserves it
Or when they send a 5-year-old to fight a war. Like no 5-year-old is going to be sent to war and people not be outraged about it. I can give some understanding of a preteen or teenager. But no way are people going to be like. Hell Ya he can fight in a war even though he still needs naps or else hell cry all day.
