Reo Analysis

I feel as though the author has a mixed relationship with Reo and his portrayal. I understand the perspective that the author uses him as a gag but I also don't think the author intends for him to be some humorous imagery completely, my reasoning is based off the other characters reactions. Almost 90% of the characters are genuinely terrified of Reo and have called him out on multiple occasions for his actions. The main characters as well have demonstrated realistic responses to assaults withstood whether it's urinating themselves or being triggered for several chapters. As much as I don't wanna admit it, characters like Reo exist in this world and Japan is known to be very dismissive of sexual assault which is why the reactions from characters are incredibly watered down at times. Moreover, this author is known to demonstrate all elements of sexual assault and it's true nature, whether it's in Yamamoto where he'll laugh off his assault and try to find humor in it or with this story as well where it's this consistent anxiety met with fear and a lack of resistance. Knowing this author and how they typically try to demonstrate all elements and reactions of victims of sexual Assault, I truly believe there is some depth to his character and his portrayal. Reo isnt a good person and even glorified himself despite all reactions and sadly, people like him exist in this world.

You can disagree since I'm genuinely open to different perspectives! Just please refrain from being aggressive ♡

I think Reo storyline means to show that rape is swept under the rug most of time. Everyone knew Reo r1pes Kuzuya but ignore it, and slut-shame him, even make him apologize after they knew he unknowingly has sex with all three family members. It's like they think because Kuzuya's into anal that it's ok when Reo gives it to him. Kasuya has the same mentality.

thank you for commenting this. i feel like a lot of readers that believe its all shock factor are missing out that the gag of reos character is supposed to be absurd and make you uncomfortable. i feel like its a direct criticism of the perpetrator that exists in real life who isnt treated as immoral and actions are downplayed while the victims who behave like kuzuya are shamed.
