Im thinking the serpent will not be able to take the dragon orb from his step brother.. the kirin will prolly come just right in time. I think the servant guy will give the orb to the serpent instead and he dies.. coz the serpent initially just need 1 dragon orb anyways.. he's just greedy so he wants 2..

Anyway, going back, i also think the serpent will suffer once the servant dies after taking the orb coz maybe he'll grow feelings for him.
Or maybe im wrong and both humans having the orb dies.. then the author ends this with some reincarnation shit to pacify the tragedy they did. Really.. i've read a few of these gods love human tropes, and they dont usually have a happy ending.. and if this was written by a korean author, that reincarnation ending is so overused even in kdramas. Its good, but im deff bracing myself for a tragedy so i dont get too sad if it happens ╮(￣▽￣)╭
