All that half assed post but clarity, effort and eventual glossing over it didn't convince me. It would've needed a lot lot more effort and a long redemption arc if it were a ML having done the same like another reader said. It's just coz he's the mc. Personally, I hated that tho.

Even if his actions don't count as "cheating" in the literal sense because they weren't in a stable relationship, that's still a betrayal of trust. You don't sleep with someone else when you have already agreed to go out with someone the next day.
Imagine your crush coming back to you after fucking his own crush and going "You see, I fucked him the day before and didn't like it, so now I am on a date with you". He wasn't even truthful about it to Hwi. The fact that he couldn't even come clean to Hwi about it goes to show what he did was wrong.
