Do u thinks it’s suicidal tendencies or being unable to control your strength. When I saw yoon go to touch his head he almost destroyed it. I don’t think hunters mean to or they even want to subconsciously. To me it looks like an accident. Or do u think yoon wanting to die is a symptom and he forever is subconsciously thinking about wanting to die??
I think it’s one of those conditions that’s kind of all over the place with the symptoms. He was strong enough to hit pretty hard, but he was also collapsed, passed out, and apparently couldn’t get up at the same time. It’s clear that it causes exhaustion and inflicts a lot of pain, which likely contributes to the weakness, but it doesn’t actually cause injury, which is why some abilities remain intact. If anything, the most serious symptoms are neurological, preventing rational thinking, causing mental instability, and leading to self harm
Well the trauma definitely doesn’t help. Think of it this way. Mana deficiency is like a chemical imbalance that promotes depression, suicidal ideation, and makes it otherwise difficult to function. Most hunters are on the front line risking their lives and experiencing a lot of trauma. Seo has severe PTSD, anxiety, depression, and survivor’s guilt in general, so mana deficiency more or less pushes him closer to the edge.
With or without mana deficiency, Seo would not be alive if not for the final wishes. Even so, he has incredibly strong willpower and psychological endurance
Reaction to mana deficiency highlights the difference in experiences between new and old hunters.
So mana deficiency is a very severe, established medical condition. The primary symptoms are mental instability, headaches, weakness, self harm, and potentially suicidal tendencies. I think Seo running out of mana and all his teammates thinking it’s so novel and cute at first really speaks to how new hunters truly have no idea what the Revengers and old hunters had to endure and how difficult it was.
The level of shock and horror when they realize he can’t be healed to restore his mana really highlights how different things are. The are in an S class dungeon but they weren’t mentally prepared for the risk of death.
Seo and Dorim exerted themselves to the point of mana deficiency almost constantly for most of the time they were in the great dungeon, and it was likely a common experience for the others, which likely explains a lot of the suicides in the dungeon.
Dealing with mana deficiency on top of trauma must also be incredibly severe. If it’s directly blamed for the deaths of two Revengers, they either must have done it very soon after getting out of the Great dungeon or they must have gone into other dungeons after. We don’t know when mana potions became commonplace.
It also really speaks to Seo’s strength of mind that he was able to endure it for so long, and remain functional afterwards.
