No, Qiyu and Liqing don't die, but it does another character that became important.

Liqing lost his mental health and married Pei Xingxu, but he dies. Qiyu tries to win Liqing and even give him his eyes or something like that (he recover his eyesight later) but they didn't end up together like a couple, more like fwb (that's what I understood). Sorry I read it in English but isn't my native language.

What I said it's the final chapters, he suffered more before that. He had to go through many complicated situations. I could say he never was really happy, just for a few moments.
I'm here after reading the novel of the second story and I'm very sad. Don't waste your time reading this very, very sad story.
