It's also that it's of course frustrating and concerning for one, encountering people with this perspective. But it's also deeply unsatisfying when they won't be upfront about why they think the way they think (even if the answer is "actually, i haven't thought about it much at all!") because then I can't actually deconstruct that thinking. They just keep insulting you or giving you non-answers or saying that you're purposefully misreading what they're saying because you disagree with them or are a blind hater or something. Like yes, I do disagree! But I'm willing to be wrong or apply more nuance where I see fit! I earnestly try to understand where people are coming from so that I can be clear with what I disagree with and disagree for the right reasons. I do like being right but it's not worth it if I'm not actually right! Like I said there have been people on both sides of this argument who've said things I disagree with!
