I think this is the first time I have not hated the girl who is meant to be evil. Like she saw an opportunity and went for it under the impression that the Duke didn't love his wife. She, like Lila, was dealt a shitty hand in life and was clinging to the same rope Lila did, it just so happened she chose wrong. She was also led astray by her love for a guy who clearly was a manipulator and abuser. Like of course she listened to him, she almost had his child and was a victim of domestic violence (emotionally and physically with how he grabbed her constantly and treated her). The only choice that she did in my mind that was dumb is not tell Aslan when he finally came home and she threatened him for marriage. White hair bitch wasn't there and she totally could have gotten out, but even then I remember she was abused and scared and that fear makes her find her abuser scarier than he actually was.
Overall, I somewhat enjoyed this but I won't finish it since it doesn't seem to have much of a plot and the FL, while pretty and nice, isn't all that interesting as a person. I enjoy that she overcame her emotional and physical hardships though. What is most intriguing is the memories of their past life/book which makes me wonder if Lila's memories of the "book" is actually also lingering memories of a past life since we never actually see who she was in her last life where she read the book
