No he doesn't, he gave Jin the sedative he had from a doctor from the time he was dealing with withdrawal, and all the hateful things he was saying were on a red background so it's most probably Jin's hallucinations from the drugs, not what actually happened. Matthew is only trying to keep Jin from killing himself
