I've only read the first few chapters of the novel, and i think it was a bit on the darker tone, yoojin was shown to be much more unstable and suffering from ptsd of sorts. I think the manhwa tones it down and also cuts out some scenes they might find not so important. (An example of this was with the weapon guy, there was a bit of story change about his recruitment i believe)
Honestly i prefer the novel. Yeah its more dark and moody but like thats to be expected after all that happened to him. I just feel like the manhwa is glossing over some important parts to keep it "fun". Znd like some parts that were supposed to happen later happened earlier. Yeahhh dont get me wrong manwha is good but when you've read the novel you cant stop but compare and be disappointed tbh
yoojin is more unhinged in a dark way compared to the manhwa which is leaning in a comedic way. there are a lot of stuff that got cut from the novel which is disappointing but honestly most of them aren't really important to the main story. they are important if you care about the relationship between the characters but overall for the story not really. i still like reading the manhwa nonetheless because after all the angst from novel, reading the manhwa made me feel better lol
to the people who have read both the novel and the manhwa; is the manhwa really that much better? i was considering the novel, but i saw a lot of reviews saying that the tone of the manhwa is much more unique and fun (kind of parodying the regression/dungeon tropes) while the novel is a lot more moody and edgy, specifically that yoojin was different…and not in ways i’d like lol. help pls!
