Hey so of course agree with you but BL comic that are written by Korean people you're not gonna be getting real "progressive" stories. Not to say they aren't out there but most of these stories aren't trying to cater to that, this isn't something new and unfortunately commenting on this site will not make any difference
No you're so REAL for that
I hate this stereotype that women are so "fragile" and "delicate" and can't take pain when it's scientifically proven that they take it better than men ever will
Most of the time female characters are just treated as canon fodder for the male characters in BL and generally shown in a shitty light, and that's just awful considering the target audience of BL is generally women
But yeah wtv
I agree with you, like I really do cause I absolutely hate this too. I genuinely think the author didn’t mean any harm by this, but I think lots of people who put the “Im a man so I can take it” don’t really think to much about it or just don’t care. Most of the time yaoi is written by women too, so I don’t think they would write this just to make women seem weak, it’s just something they put in these scenes to make it faster paced or something? Idk
Yeah that's called sexism. Cause sexism isn't just men trashing on women but sadly, it also is women trashing on women cause that's how they were raised. If you think about it a minute, it's mind boggling. How women, who experienced sexism, who suffered from it, can do it?
Simple. It's engraved in their veins (in OUR veins actually), to act this way. To put down the gender we are a part of. Cause our whole life, we hear that men are better than women. More brave, more intelligent, more courageous... You name one. And when you don't stop yourself to think about it a little bit, you're going to accept it as the only truth.
...
Man, I don't want to be a rabid feminist but still... Bro, we have to take some shit in that you would never stand for. Just step aside.
Yeah, even as a female myself, I don’t understand why women hate on each other, I just don’t get it T-T. The only women I hate are the gross ones, like the ones that do illegal things or are just mean and cruel to anybody besides theirselves. I wish we could all just like each other, or just simply stop caring about the little dumb things, it really isn’t that hard.
Simple. We were born to hate ourselves. We were born to cater to men needs and wants and we were born to just shut up and endure it.
It can sound kinda harsh but it's the truth. Most of the studies on the subject point out that women don't have a place to voice out their feelings. Until internet that is. And now that we started, they don't like it and call us liars (like metoo for exemple)
Sorry but I’m gonna have to disagree with you. I have never hated myself ever in my life, I’ve done stupid embarrassing things and got mad at myself for it but I have never hated myself for it. Women were not born for men, that’s what men want you to think, because infact, without women, men wouldn’t be born in the first place, so technically they are born for us.
No I don't mean that you hate yourself. I mean that the society teach women to look down on other women because we are taught that way. An exemple would be "I'm a man, I can take it". Cause a woman cannot, a woman is weak. That's what society teach us. Then, when you have women born and raised in that kind of toxic environment, they will have (even you or me for what matters) some kind of unconscious shortcut.
These shortcuts are actually the worst kind because they are ingrained in our brain from birth and we will use them to look at other women and criticise them.
Like, saying she's a whore cause she dress that way. Or if she's climbing up the corporate ladder, that she slept her way around.
You look young (and I'm not looking down on you. I'm just trying to communicate in the best way I can) so you may not grasp what I want to say. But even myself can catch myself thinking something degrading about another woman I see or speak to. And most of the time, it is sexist. That's what I mean when I say that we were raised to hate ourselves. Because those kind of comments, even in passing, is also an insult you say to yourself. That what I wanted to say
I'm sorry, I tried my best but English isn't my first language so if it's confusing, just ask me
I understand don’t worry T^T I do know how how bad this stuff is, like how there’s plenty of women out there who belive we shouldn’t have rights or be able to vote, and that we should only exist to serve men. I see plenty of videos of men who want women to only exist for them and do what they want. And I understand that women degrade themselves all the time for men just for attention. But I just personally don’t understand why anybody would do that, and I really don’t get why women throughly history where thought to be weaker then men even after we prove time after time that we arnt. I don’t get why men think that they are so superior over women when they are not, and I absolutely hate that women think this too. It’s just hard to understand when my way of thinking does not correlate with “women are weaker” at all.
Cause men are in a dominant position in society and women aren't.
...
Just a piece of advice. If you ever deal with a situation where you think it's unfair, just try to picture how it would go if you were a man. It would help you understand the underlying tensions and prepare yourself to fight for yourself.
No??? Wtf?? You're literally looks like someone who will reply "so you hate tea!!?!!!?!" To someone that say they like coffee. It's literally a harmless word, he say he's a man (because he is, and was in the army in past) so he could take/handle pain. That's it, fullstop. But you in other hand, just saw those words and took it personally as if they said something like woman is weak and blah blah so on. NO, there is not a single women related in those scenario, you just taking it in just to purely hates on something unrelated. "I love this manhwa" then proceed to shit talks something unrelated at ALL. Take you feminism shit out of here.
Oh girl you're so sweet if you don't understand that these kind of statements are like worms that eat to your brain... No, I really don't care about your brain, you were rude enough.
What I want to say tho is that this kind of statements, without anything nefarious on itself, just pills up. And it goes on and on. It's not just that manhwa, it's the interactions, it's the fact that the victims of domestic violence (or murder) aren't even named in the media, it's the fact that men can just shut you up because you're a woman.
That kind of statement is just pilling up and pilling up and make you swallow your own worth. That's it.
It's easy to say that it's just a manhwa. But if it wasn't, I wouldn't be trying to explain. It's just an exemple of what is slowly shipping at women confidence.
So you can rage all you want, but oh, I hope your brain won't rot. Love.
"I'm not a man, I can take it"
Oh fuck right off.
I love this manhwa, I do. But seriously, why the fuck would you use a whole gender to say that you want to fuck and you don't care about pain?
I'm really tired of that "women are weak and can't take anything" narrative. It does strike my nerves cause... First, we have an organ designed to take dicks and men don't. Second we have evolved to support child bearing and that mean that our threshold of pain is fair greater than men.
Thirdly, and that's entirely personal...
DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY MEN DON'T KNOW HOW TO FUCK WOMEN??? I remember some, just two kisses and then they ram it in. Lub? Fingers? Ah, in your dreams.
Bro if he did that to your asshole, you would be crying. But not us. We grind our teeth, bear it and then, say it feels good.
Ah, I swear to god, that "I'm a man, I can take it..." trope is grinding my nerves. No you don't. You don't even know how much we smooth things over for you.
...
I'm sorry, that's just my rant but still, I do love that manhwa and they're adorb
