Anyway, with Hayden’s personality, I’ve always worried that the chances of him running away when hurt are quite high. Many fans like the idea of Brett chasing after and manipulating Hayden to keep him by his side, but to me, that kind of plot is pretty exhausting and makes their relationship feel unbalanced.
i also feel like brett being manipulative is very out of character tbh. hes def cunning and resourceful, but being true to his character and believing in his and others' free will and sense of choice is fundamental to his entire personality. he doesnt mind using ppl, but he never uses them without them knowing what theyre getting into.
Yeah, this is quite controversial. Personally, I believe Brett only ‘manipulates’ in cases where he thinks it’s beneficial for both him and Hayden, like in the short story. But in the end, Hayden’s consent is still the most important thing because if Hayden isn’t willing, isn’t proactive, then what meaning would Brett’s desire to be dominated by someone else even have? And if Brett really wanted to control Hayden, there would be many other ways to do that, but clearly Brett gives Hayden a lot of freedom. In fact, Hayden has concerns about his relationship with Brett because Brett introduced director Shanta to Hayden. Why would he do something detrimental like that if he wanted to control and manipulate Hayden?
I agree, I always feel like adding some rando to stir up drama after the couple is together feels like a cheap plot pushing factor. with how both of them treated the pink haired guys crush on Hayden, im sure it would just be both of them saying nothing until one of them breaks (probably from sexual frustration). I can't lie though, a begging Brett does sound very !!!!!!
Some Korean fans think that Hayden and Brett have many disagreements, which could lead to them breaking up multiple times after dating (and Hayden likely to be the one who break up first, Brett just go with it), and then both of them would meet and date someone else, only to realize that only the other can truly satisfy them… I don’t know if the author thinks the same way, but if possible, I would prefer for them not to break up (they’re not even dating yet, lol) and then have to in relationship with other people to realize they need each other. Without discussing whether it’s realistic or not, focusing on building the relationship between Hayden and Brett is still better than bringing a third party into the mix. But that’s just my personal opinion—no matter which direction the author takes, as long as it makes sense and everything has a purpose like in season 1, I’ll always support them.
