They were not mad but rather supportive. His wife understand him and she was sad because of all the things he experienced. But he is still in the wrong about not explaining his wife about what happened since there is a child of that abuse.
I just read this all at once and all I can say is that I wished they weren't so mad at the father for "cheating" when he was a victim of rape
