Usually I find things get low ratings because the art isn't pretty enough vs having a bad story. I've read things that had like 6.5 in rating and it's no where near as bad as how ppl rated it. Similar story with the comments
Its the contrary, when you go to this section (topics) of a first chapter, people complain about the sex being too soon
This manga its not bad so I get your point but 8 of 10 its a pretty good rating I dont understand how that its low, I would understand if it has 4-6 stars
I'm talking exactly from what I see on the topic sections. In comics with no sex or very little sex, that's the main complaint I see, and the main reason for voting low. I've also seen many times, both as topics, both as "Things" people saying they don't read something under 9.0 stars. It's crazy, I know, 8 being considered low, but that's what a good chunk of the people I've seen discussing ratings do. It's also very telling when you compare with the ratings of Painter of the night (9.5, way more than here) or Profundis (8.5, STILL more than here) what's people's actual priority when voting, because ain't no way anyone can argue that this is lower quality than any of those two in any aspect
There's a culture here in mangago, ever since the pandemic, I think, of people not giving a chance to things with low ratings and people rating things after one ch. or without even finishing the 1st chapter not for being bad, but for not being their cup of tea or because the translation wasn't great, like that makes the work itself bad. Or the worst of all because there's too little or no SEX like, fr bro, go get yourself isekaid by a truck
