Well basically the good guys are way more weaker than the "villains" cuz they are domestic androids modified to fight and protect "non humans" and villains are battle androids commanded by "humans" and the fights are constantly "interrupted" cuz the androids can't kill humans
The hero's are getting stronger but like....they obviously have a long way to go with the resources they have, they need to resort to other tactics
Besides the big purpose of this fight is yes to save the sick humans but also show that consciente androids are not a treat to humans and that they are on the same side, and it is so frustrating cuz we really just want them to just kill the villains but at the same time the moment they do that, the villains will have reason to fear the overwhelmingly superior androids

wow... so there's a lot going on, but at the same time there's nothing going on
it’s like a push and pull kind of thing, damn

In a way yes, it is "realistic" in a frustrating way, like sure domestic androids won't suddenly win battle androids, and the cure for the sick humans obviously won't fall from the sky, and so on
And I think the direction the story is going is showing that the humans even the bad guys are not villain stereotypes, there is internal conflicts, and character development to the point there are villains we hate but that we also hope change sides or rebel, at the same times the ones rebelling are not exacly "good guys"(on the side of the sick and andro
And it is interesting seeing that the more harmonious and logic androids are "good guys" exacly cuz they are trying to break taboos and " the most effective logic" and deciding to seek and hear different point of view among them, while realizing not everything has a "right" answer thus becoming "more human"
While the "bad guys" are bad cuz they discarded humanity for the sake of what they believe is the most effective answer
