I read the entire manga first then read some of the comments. I think I get why the ending was so polarizing. I, personally, would never ever think to date another person while still in love with an ex. However, what I *think* happened with Soma is that he fell in love with Wataru while still falling out of love from his ex. There's definitely an overlap. And I think it's realistic enough, human enough, to not be able to delineate feelings for two different people. It's just that we don't fully understand because we're not in that situation, but I think what we can get from this is different people have their own different timelines and we're not in the position to judge them for it. After all, none of the characters ever cheated on their partners here.

Is Soma a good guy? Well, I think he's not a bad guy. Is Wataru a good guy? I think so, and I like how he actually understood Soma coz he said he's been there 2 years ago. I guess that's it, though. This story is a very human story in that it's very character-driven, and the conflict is something we never saw coz it was always internal, we just saw the outcomes being laid out to us. It left me wanting more, honestly, coz I wanted to feel something final, you know, like a definite confirmation that they'll be happy. As it is, the ending leaves me wondering if it's actually gonna be better in the future or they're just giddy in the moment. I guess that's how all relationships go.
