It is about two childhood friends who grow up in a small village but is *supposedly* plagued by disasters, and the elders believe a human sacrifice is the only way to appease the gods. And that one childhood friend was unfortunately chosen. He was then burned alive, or so everyone thinks. Unbeknownst to the villagers, that friend is saved and is taken away and have become kinda like “miko/shaman”
Years pass, the other friend lived with the guilt of not being able to save his friend, becomes a kinda like a “swordsman”Then, he hears rumors of a sacred "miko" with incredible powers, protecting the land from dark forces. When that friend finally meets this miko, he is shocked to find that it is his childhood friend (the one whose supposedly burned alive), now imbued with spiritual powers but bound to serve the land.
