he isn't his biological dad but was indeed trying to protect him by confessed to the police.

He assumes that guy is his dad because he put flowers for him on "his birthday", for him to assume that's his Dad is like okay, but knowing what he does for children without families he could not be his dad. I mean what if he just did that because he felt bad but like since he has a family taken care of and he's just like I'll celebrate you all your birthday and he's murdering everyone cuz he thinks his dad abandoned him. And we don't know if that guy had any friend that had a kid that he couldn't take care of. Like just because he gave him flowers doesn't mean it's his dad.
