Yeah it feels a little uncomfortable as if there's the lack of love and affection one should have for their child like you can feel a weird distance that shouldn't be there
I think they both probably view him more as an apprentice by the way they treat him but it's surprising on Minhwan's part due to how much he wanted the baby like I thought he was going to be one of those parents that spoil their kids and are protective of them but ig in the end the reason he wanted the baby so bad was for a physical connection between him and the master?
I think maybe he looks at his parents as more teachers than friends. Most children want their parents to be their friends. But since he was a baby his fathers always trained him and it doesn't mean they care less about him. Actually in my country, we think about our parents as first teachers. So maybe that's kind of relationship author is trying to show. (This is my opinion)
Look, it's where respect lies. In ancient times, masters and desciples were closer than parents. You respected your parents but in the end, your master is whom raises you from the bottom up.
Its not weird! The family love each other very very much and the parents love and discipline their child all the same.
Minhwan is the one who trained the boy and trains him every day, just because he's his kid doesnt mean he will go soft on his training. But Minhwan still worries for his wellbeing and his feelings.
When ever the kid is sad, his parents hold him and comfort him.
Just because it's a different dynamic or however they call teach other doesn't make it any different from other families based on their behavior. Quit trying to imposing your beliefs on other family and people. Just because you were raised calling your parents that doesn't mean it's the way it's SUPPOSED to be. #-.-)
I still find it a bit weird how their kid doesn’t consider them his parents? Or doesn’t call them so? Same with MC? Does he consider him his child? Or just like an apprentice? They sometimes act like a family but not really if that makes any sense.
