To stop this from happening, omegas may "bond" with another Alpha (biting of the neck, hot as hell I might say). Alphas: typically the smart, rich, and top of the business people. Look down on omegas.
Betas: the majority of the people who do not get affected by an omega's pherome

No problem! I really got into Omegaverse (as you could probably tell) a couple months ago when there were only a few DJ's and the selection of stories just keep increasing!
I am new to omegaverse. I remember seeing fanfiction with it a long time ago (5 years ago), but never actually read any. I just read a brief description of what it meant. Now that I'm seeing it in yaoi manga, I've read a few manga with omegaverse... well, only 3 stories so far... and I'm still confused about some omegaverse things...
1 - In the comments I saw for some omegaverse manga, people say that the rules change depending on the mangaka... kind of like when people write about zombies and vampires, I guess? (Like some basic concepts stay the same, but people add their own rules) So I was wondering if someone could please explain to me what are the main concepts that usually stay the same, and what are some variations you have seen in manga? (And maybe give links to manga with examples of different omegaverse twists/variations?)
2 - When I first found out about omegaverse in fanfiction, the description of it mentioned "knotting". The omegaverse manga I've read do not have very explicit sex scenes... I just know that the guys have had sex. So, is "knotting" one of the basic rules that I'm just supposed to assume is always happening in an omegaverse manga, even if they do not show it explicitly or mention it? Or is knotting only a common theme in certain fandoms/writers and not a main "rule" of omegaverse?
