Nincia or whatever the Duchess' name was lured those idiots there as if they were fish chasing bait. And you want to make me believe that some cheap exposition priest and random girlie (who def is not the reincarnation of the former Empress and/or another blessing-user) have all the answers? Please.
This whole arc with the Duchess sucks ass. I'm not even sorry, the characters became so dumb just playing by the Duchess' fidle without coming up with their own counter measures. The King was attacked ffs, why is no one trying to pull out the big guns? Everyone of these royal or otherwise noble and/or magical people can't come up with anything to be one step ahead of her besides "don't go out", and even that seems too complicated >intense side-eye<. You have a whole god damn army but don't use them for anything but guarding the palace or what?
The Duchess doesn't even have to try bc she literally just has to be like "go here" and they follow like DOGS. Pathetic. When every character has to turn into a questionably sentient dumbass to make a villain look intimidating then that villain isn't intimidating at all. She doesn't even have to try and play mindgames or come up with anything actually smart bc these dumbasses swarm her like fruit flies. I'm actually so upset, I had high hopes.
