More Trauma Sex.....

I've been reading these kinds of manhwa/manhua/webtoon/comics for years now and I just don't know why sex after traumatic, life threating or dangerous events seem to be so common. Especially when the person is definitely in no physical/mental state to do so. And its's often one sided. But the characters are hot and drawn well so we're supposed to find it sexy??? Listen, I enjoy my fair share of sexiness, but over time, scenes like this just make me uncomfortable personally...

Some sex scenes are meant to make the reader uncomfortable. When the character uses it as a coping mechanism or if they are used, assaulted or forced in any other way. But sometimes it's a fetish of the creator and if you don't share the same interests, it's just gonna be uncomfortable to read.

I get that and I think u are so right that these types of scenes seem to be some creators' fetishes. We all have our kinks but the issue for me is always the lack or complete disregard of consent that is sadly so common. Listen, I love a nice beefy daddy as much as anyone else, but let whatever positions he's taking in the lightsaber battle be one he agreed to. And I understand trauma for the basis of a revenge plot, future karma, or just being the general theme of the comic. However, sexual trauma for the mere sake of a "hot scene" is a lot of the time unnecessary, just draw me a hot and consensual sex scene. I think for too long gay/queer scenes in BL/Yaoi, generally between men, are shown as glorified sexual violence, especially when done by people not of that community. And you can tell by how it's drawn, the characters' expressions, the angles/perspectives are all done to entice rather than turn you off it. I hope this isn't too much of a rant, and I'm not just bashing this comic in particular, I just hope BL/Yaoi changes for the better over time ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Oh yeah definitely. Porn in general tends to glorify rape and is filled with noncon scenes.

Most BL I've read completely disregards the lack of consent and tries to make a wholesome story out if a relationship that started with assault. And many people think that just because two people are in a relationship anything goes. Or just because they are hot.
But it's not just in BL, I read a lot of straight romance and the same tendencies seem to be present in those works as well. They just don't have that big of a community around them.

And I think it's important to mention that Shindo L, the creator of Metamorphosis said that although the scenes in his manga are drawn in an "enticing" way, it's not made for jacking off. It's to make you feel uncomfortable about the manga but also about yourself. It's just twisted in this way.
