Tbh had the same thoughts, but the MC, at least in the novel, is really weirded out by this too and at first refuses any romance exactly because of this. Can't remember how the author put it, but I know I liked how the situation was resolved.

honestly i stopped reading this ever since i found out he told his parents he’s actually a grown man and now that im a little older it’s weird how this even has romance cause he’s literally a grown man surrounded by minors
